I received my BA with an entrepreneur/mgt major. Always being a “hands on” sort of spirit, I decided to attend massage therapy school. I was not positive that this would be the right path but knew that I really enjoyed a naturalistic approach to healing and making people feel better.
I attended massage therapy school, first , in San Diego, CA. After 8 months, I missed the East coast and came back and finished at Bancroft School of Massage Therapy in Worcester, MA. I did the accelerated program with studies consisting of acupressure, sports massage, myofascial release, trigger point work, and deep tissue. My first event through school was the 2007 Boston marathon. From that I became interested in the deep work aspect of Massage, the honing in on specific tightness and releasing the pain(“knots”). My first job out of school was at a big spa in Providence, RI. While I enjoyed the spa atmosphere, I realized my skills were wasted on light touch. That’s when I made the move to Boston and have been working with a clinical approach to massage for the past 16 years. My clientele consists of Cross-fitters, professional athletes, ultra-marathoners, tri-athletes, and everyday workers with repetitive use issues(desk jockeys!!).
